Faith Formation Schedule

The Faith Formation Program at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade is a content rich curriculum.  The teachers use Walking by Faith published by Harcourt.  The Kindergarten class meets once a month, while 1st through 6th grades meet weekly from 9:30-10:20 am Sunday. Students participate in a monthly Children’s Mass.  This mass is hosted by a different grade each month.  The host class participates in the mass by being greeters, singing, reading at the liturgy, presenting the gifts, and ushering.  This creates a sense of community with the children, their families and the Parish community.  Other events that create a parish wide community include our children’s Christmas program where the children retell the Christmas story through a simple narration, and a Halloween Children’s Mass that celebrates All Soul’s Day.

Second grade is when Faith Formation students make their First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Students are well prepared to make their First Reconciliation in April and their First Communion in May.   These celebrations are centered around the children and their families.  The teaching staff and Fr. John work together to make this a very special and meaningful experience for the children and their families.

The teaching staff at St. Mary’s is dedicated individuals who volunteer their time to work with our youth.  They show their own commitment to our faith by working to engage our children in their faith journey
